Again at Stanford Hall I've seen a Rickman, this time a Rancher, reg. GPR 4V, does anyone know of it? Properly not a club member but appears to be connected to The Sunbeam Motorcycle club, after all it was a bike event. Anyway it was nice to see a fairly tidy example in use, I'll try to post a picture when I work out how to!

Didn't spot the Rancher but I was there on two wheels, Richard. A cracking day out. Hope you can post a pic. It surprises me how many motorcyclists know of the Rickman brothers' bike frames and topboxes but are unaware of their considerable involvement in the kit car market.

OK, first off, I've completely failed to work out how to add pictures to this post, extra stupid as I've done it before! And I got the reg. wrong, it's really Q 119 GPR, I'm obviously better at letters than numbers.

Yes, you are right about motor cyclist not being aware of Rickman cars, I attend a fair amount of Pre-65 scrambles where Rickman bikes are well represented often using the Rancher and although people comment on what a nice little camper it is no one so far knew it's origins until I told them!

As an aside, my Ranger is registered on the donor Escort number which is now 40 years old and qualifies as a "Historic Vehicle" thus saving a decent amount of cash on tax. If anyone one is in a similar position it is well worth the effort of filling out a few forms.

Our 'new' Ranger has the Escort donor's registration and should qualify in a few years. Nice little bonus.

On the subject of adding pictures, for some reason the 'Add attachment' option doesn't always appear above Add to your favourites' which is probably why you are having trouble working out how to include a picture Richard. There may be a reason for this but I gave up trying to understand computers years ago. Women are much easier...
