Tempory Handbrake cure-gctid4057

Since re-joining the forum I have been looking at the posts but have not been able to read them all so this maybe a repeat. I've recently been working on my old Ranger to get it through its mot. it kept failing on its handbrake, you could adjust it up and it worked fine but when on the brake rollers and being applied the plastic adjusters would slip back down the cable, my Mot tester a friend even tried adjusting them again but the same thing happened, I know you can get new handbrake cables. but as a temporary fix to get it passed I opened up a small jubilee clip put it round the cable and slid it up behind the plastic adjusters once they were adjusted correctly I then tightened the jubilee clip on the cable and it went straight through its Mot, so if anyone out there has the same problem then this will cure it while you order a new cable.
