Hi Lee.

I have Trudy's rancher on my drive at present doing some work for her. she definitely needs a stainless exhaust, I have managed to repair her back pipe but its only time before it all fails Mot, so if anyone can come up with either a Rickman one or a solution to put a bespoke stainless exhaust on please contact me.

Hi Alan,

In June 2010 I became suspicious that the exhaust on our Ranger would be due for renewal.

My wife Sylvia, (who looks after me very very well ) insisted that we had a SS exhaust fitted. As she put it " I'm NOT having you going underneath the car in the winter, getting cold and wet, we WILL have the exhaust changed now"

We did !!!.

Preamble over,  we had been told about a company call "Longlife Stainless Steel Exhausts who will make up for you, whilst you wait a custom exhaust system.  Our nearest workshop is in Stockport (we live in Manchester area).

We made an appointment to visit them where they assessed the requirements and asked about any special features that we needed, we simply asked for quietness.

We agreed a price (and they gave us a 10% discount for RCOC membership) of £300 payable.  (2010 price)

Because the workshop is on an industrial estate we caught the local bus into Stockport and in just over two hours they rang me to say that the Rickman was ready for collection.

All in all a sensible decision (thanks Sylvia) and a pleasant experience. The exhaust is now almost six years old, a month to go, without the slightest of problems.

Now comes the best bit---------

THE EXHAUST IS GAURANTEED FOR EVER and it transfers with the CAR not the BUYER.

the website is   www.longlife.co.uk to find a local franchise.

I hope anyone needing an exhaust finds this useful.

Good luck,

Bernad

Hi Alan

I have a longlife stainless exhaust which came off our ranger. Ours is mk2 escort and off a 2ltr pinto. If you can modify it to fit you are welcome to it for the price of a couple of beers. We had a quick look at trudys rancher last year and it looked a little different but if we had time to look properly it may be possible to retro fit it.

Regards

Jeff and Harrison :)

Hi Alan

Apologies for the delay to reply. It was off a 2 ltr pinto and it was a rear exit exhaust up and over the rear axle

Hi Harrison.

I had spoken to Trudy regarding your exhaust and even though its Ranger one I'm sure I could modify it for Trudy, I'm on 07748793977, if you could send me a text with your number then I could give you a ring.

Thanks Alan
