have now started the job i hate >:( tcutting it and polishing it to get the body back to a nice standard, fitted the rear speakers in, and put a speedo in that have a trip meater for the milage,

this is what is stopping me working on the car when it is fine,my new toy.

Took it for the mot the day before the holiday, the mot guy was talking and asking me about it, said how solid the chassie was and the fiberglass body, the said it had passed :), with no problem, then said it was nice to see the old escorts put to a good use after they rusted away,

I found mine spaced up the vertical face and buried in road filth behind the front wheels, three a side. A wire brush should reveal the 10mm bolts with nuts inside the car and penny washers to spread the load on the GRP. You'll need to get a spanner or socket on both sides. If they have been assembled with the bolt heads outside there is usually no problem with corrosion. Otherwise give the exposed threads a soaking in Plus Gas  before attempting to undo. The top pairs can be accessed by standing on your head in the footwell. The lower pair, one each side, have to be approached from below the sills  and so may be rusted.

Good luck with dismantling. If you have a local Screwfix I recommend some of their stainless bolts, big washers and nyloc nuts to make it easier next time.

Thank you for that, as it did not say in the build manual, i am lucky as the spare car i have bought has never been on the road, but it has a better body than mine :) no crazing very good seals on all the windows/ doors, all the running gear still has the ford part numbers on,f it it has 9" drum on the back, and big disks on the front , but no engine or box, bought it off ebay,
