Some people say gear oil is really good for coating the under side of your motor?

A popular trick in the 50's 60's & 70's was to spray the underside with the oil that had been removed whilst doing an oil change.

The idea fell into disrepute -- I wonder why? :-? :-?.

Good luck,

Bernard

Jeez I need to get out more.......

Nova Diesel, must be one of the last ones before the Corsa ? Our local take away delivery driver turned up in a really tidy 1.3 SRi last year, then some T**t stole it and he's driving a toyota !

You're right Peter, it is blue! Can't beat a good gel coat for coming up with a bit of elbow grease can you. Keep going. You'll get there.

I'm afraid that's as far as it got for now ;D

I was worried if the colour would come back in some of the more weathered areas so I did abit to put my mind at ease.

Still a long way off its final polish for going back on the road.

Cheers JJ I do like copper pipe probably last longer than silicon hose!

Picture of the radiator fan set up

This time I'm using a vw mk2 golf 1300 rad instead of a polo rad there the same size except golf one is 50mm wider and the ranger has plenty room for it if the battery is located in the bulkhead.

Some say bigger is better!  ;D

Iv used the same fan as iv been using inmy white pinto engined ranger witch is the escort rs turbo fan with fabricated brackets to bolt on to the radiator!

I don't like the look of all these fan fitting kits that basically consist of a couple of cable ties that go through the fins of the radiator

During my time off iv started my head lining and interior!

Not the easiest job to do but worth while and it looks pretty good!

Also you can see my sunroof witch I also cut in a few weeks ago.

I was abit worried cutting a large hole in the roof but it worked out fine

I'm also thinking about fitting a digital dash from a astra gte

Just a thought at the moment but I think it would look pretty smart
